Cuba v2

So. I went to Cuba.

AND.

I got stung by a jellyfish.

YOU HEARD IT HERE, FOLKS.
THE ONLY ONE CAUTIOUS ABOUT GETTING EATEN BY LEVIATHAN OR SWEPT AWAY BY UNDERTOWS WAS THE ONLY ONE TO FACE THE THREATS OF THE OCEAN.

It's not like it was a man 'o' war or anything (and holy crap, were those huge. Well... medium. They were so pretty I wish I could have picked it up), it was just a little jellyfish, or a few little jellyfish, for they stung Nicole as well when the wave swept them against us. We weren't allowed to go into the water that day (not that I would on that grimy, ugly beach), except we could wade in and get splashed by waves. Unfortunately those waves had jellyfish in them. My lower legs stung for the rest of the evening. It sucked. A couple days later we were at the same beach and we saw that the sea had washed up a trail of these little jellyfish. They were about 2 inches big and a beautiful blue coloured. I promptly named them all "Satan".

(I think it's worth noting right now that I am sick in bed whilst typin
g this, and I hear a strange siren that sounds unlike any siren I've ever heard, along with ambulances and firemen and stuff. This siren sounds like an alien invasion, or more specifically, Giygas' attack on Eagleland and surrounding countries)

I DID go into the ocean when we went to the nice beach, though. The one with no jellyfish and you could see right to the bottom.

We also went to this baseball game that lasted like, 5 hours. Baseball is more important there than hockey is to Canada, and I can say that while it impressed me that there was about 50,000 p
eople in the stadium making as much noise as humanly possible, that was the worst 5 hours in my entire life. I hate to say that, because, you know, I'm in freaking Cuba, but I can honestly not remember a time in which I have felt that miserable. It was just a horrible experience; I couldn't hear anything, the bathrooms had shat all over the place (don't get me started on Cuban bathrooms. At least now right now), the one armed man had the worst homemade instrument ever and would not shut up, it was so humid (don't get me started on how sensitive my poor skin is - heat rash in winter? Yay). I was even looking forward to going, it's not like I went in with a bad attitude about it. I almost started crying like 10 times. It was bad. It doesn't sound that bad, I guess. You had to be there.

So those were the only miserable parts of the whole trip. Actually, I kind of like that I was stung by a jellyfish, it's a good story. So really baseball was the only miserable part of the whole trip. The best part was the portions of pizza they would give you at lunch and how you always got ice cream for desert. And good ice cream, too.

In other news, I am officially a pseudo-stalker, and by 'pseudo', I mean, 'learning', and by 'learning', I mean, 'Facebook'. What, pray tell, am I talking about?! Surely not a boy. I shouldn't admit that.

(This was seriously at the airport in Cuba. Real life Engrish! And I saw it first!!)

It's Time to Talk Cosplay

That's right, the new year is upon us, and as such, we must discuss how this year is looking for cosplay.

I am cosplaying as Yuna from Final Fantasy X. Although I would be able to make her outfit, I just figured with the commissions I've taken plus my own other pretty fabulous one, I would not have the time (nor the funds) to make this costume. So I bought it on eBay for 50 bucks (there was a sale!) It came in the mail today and it looks absolutely wonderful, I just need to paint some things so that they're perfect. :) I'm also going to purchase a beautiful brown wig and green contacts for my right eye.

I'm also cosplaying as the young Simon from Gurren Lagann. Also Lagann. That's right. Cardboard Lagann will make an appearance. You have no idea how excited I am. I'll be able to walk around the convention center in a robot. Kick-ass.

I'm doing 3 commissions: An adorable Gothic Lolita dress, Advent Children Cloud, and Fran from Final Fantasy XII. I'm very excited as all of these will help me hone some skills in some way or another. I'm not taking on any more commissions, though, so if you wanted something, you've missed out. I will consider it if you live near here and will pay for everything up front, however. It's mostly a fund thing for me, rather than time. Although once I get a legitimate job, it'll be more of a time thing rather than funds.

So, Ai-Kon 2010, I'm coming for you in full force. Beware the iron fist of my awesomeness!

On another note, this Salad for lunch Soup for supper diet is going pretty well. I can feel the difference when I actually eat breakfast in the morning, although I've had to start out really small, like a piece of toast, because I just get sick if I eat too much since I'm not used to eating breakfast. And I have been keeping up DDR every other day. I haven't seen a huge change in my weight yet, but then again, I haven't really checked, so we'll see! Wii Fit tomorrow!

ALSO: I can't post pictures for some reason. Someone smart should help me. The video box opens fine, but when I click on the 'add image' button, it does nothing.

Life is a Competition and other Epiphanies

Today, someone in choir said, "Life is a competition." And you know, that isn't true. Unless life is a 'See Who Can Die First' Competition. In which case, we're all losing.

That's actually all I have for now.

Sometimes it doesn't let me upload pictures.

My List of Things to Accomplish What are in No Way Related to New Year's Resolutions

Okay. This is what's happening (Hey, I said I was going to start blogging about serious stuff!):

1) Lose ~15 lbs (Before Ai-Kon). Not because I'm upset with how I look. I'm upset with how I feel.
2) Beat Final Fantasy XII
3) Go on a REAL date.
4) Learn to 'Enjoy Everything'. Yotsuba knows how to do things.
5) Find someone who appreciates how smart and witty I am.
6) Get a job. Now, this isn't MY fault. I'm being discriminated against because of my hair colour. You jerks.
7) Produce decent art for once. Instead of just doodles.
8) Paint more.
9)

This list will be updated as I think of things. HA HA HA.

Things Happening in January Only for the Reason of Experiments, Each Related to My General Health, Because My General Health is Awful:

1) Drink a water bottle every weekday. Monday to Friday. A whole bottle.
2) Eat salads for lunch. As often as possible.
3) No junk food on weekdays. Exceptions for puppy chow and the occasional eating out. In real restaurants. Which brings me to me next point:
4) Cut back on fast food. As little as possible. Sometimes you just can't help it. Okay so, No going to fast food places on my own free will.
5) No Kraft Dinner and no instant noodles. Not that I have those very often.
6) Real breakfast. Like eggs. 2 eggs. Scrambled. As opposed to NO breakfast.
7) DDR every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Wii Fit every Tuesday, Thursday. I understand Wii Fit is under mass public scrutiny. But I love Wii Fit. So suck it.

I think that's it.

The Spoils of Christmas Past

Things I got because I'm materialistic and selfish and North American:

1. 8 pots of my favourite Directions Hair Colour. Colours: Flamingo Pink, Carnation Pink, Mandarin, Spring Green, Turquoise, Bright Daffodil, White Toner (for when FINALLY this old hair colour will wash out and I can bleach it white. GAH.), and Violet. I was running dangerously low on colours and I really only had blues and red left.

2. An Emery sized guitar! Emery is my BJD. That's Ball-Jointed Doll. He's beautiful. I'm sure I've said that before, but whatevs.

4. Gift cards to Cineplex, iTunes, and Kildonan Place.

5. A cumulative 120 dollets in earth monies. Dollet. Final Fantasy VIII. Dollet. Ha ha. That's funny.

OKAY ANYWAY

Okay Anyway.

I'm going to start a band.

Called, 'Okay Anyway'.

Our number one hit will be a cover of the Pokemon theme song.

In the new year, I'm going to start blogging about real things.
